How to use Torpedo™ Base Blocks
For walls where soil conditions do not require roadbase and compaction.

Prepare: Mark and excavate trench to approximately 150mm in depth

Materials: Bring in a maximum of 25mm of cement stabilised sand (pre-mixed or mix in 5% dry cement into bedding sand) and spread flat. 

Mark Out Area: Lay Torpedo™ Base Blocks to outline of wall.

Start Laying Blocks: Check and level Torpedo™ Base Blocks both ways using a rubber mallet. The 'give' in the sand will allow you to adjust the Torpedo™ Base Blocks to level.

Laying Wall on top of Torpedo™ Base Blocks:
For blocks with 'rear lips' - place wall blocks at the back of the Torpedo™ Base Blocks and slide forward until the rear lip hits the Torpedo™ block. Continue laying blocks and building wall as per wall requirements.
For all other with flat bottom surfaces - adhere the wall blocks to the top of the Torpedo™ Base Blocks using a suitable landscape grade masonry adhesive.
