General Purpose Cement 20kg
General Purpose Cement 20kg
General Purpose Cement is a cost-effective, versatile building material meeting Type GP requirements in AS3972. Its consistency and compatibility with various admixtures make it ideal for domestic, structural, mining, and engineering projects, including concrete slabs, pre-stressed slabs, pavers, and specialty formulations like adhesives and mortars.
Size: 20kg bags
Applications: Concrete, Grout, Mortar, Render
The applications of the cement include domestic construction (slabs, driveways, footpaths), structural concrete (pre-stressed slabs, columns, tilt-up walls), pavers, blocks, panels, pipes, mining, major engineering and civil projects, and specialty formulations like adhesives, renders, mortars, and grouts.
Curing:
A seven-day curing period is recommended for all exposure classifications, maintaining concrete moist when possible. Methods like water sprays, wet sand, or moisture-retaining techniques (e.g., polyethylene sheets) are suggested. Curing begins post-finishing or as per manufacturer instructions for proprietary compounds. For normal class concrete, curing can double compressive strength. Water or moisture retention is more effective for lower-grade concrete. Curing enhances properties like reduced plastic cracking, improved surface quality, durability, impermeability, abrasion resistance, and decreased carbonation rate.
Storage:
If you have to store bagged cement products at home, make sure you keep them off the ground and fully protected from the weather. The recommended shelf life of Grey Cement based products is approximately 6 months from the time of purchase.
