Upgrade your garden design with Link Edge Garden Edging, the ultimate solution for precise borders and pathways. Crafted from premium aluminium, this edging system ensures both durability and aesthetic appeal, offering a seamless blend of function and style for your outdoor space.
In this guide, learn how to DIY your Link Edge Garden Edging to create the perfect outdoor space for your needs.
Step 1- Measure!
To ensure optimal results, it's crucial to determine the precise placement of your Link Edge initially. Even a rough estimate at the start can prevent the need to backtrack through the installation steps outlined in this guide. This approach will streamline the process, saving you time and effort while achieving the desired aesthetic outcome.
Step 2- Prepare Your Area
It's essential to begin your project with a tidy, well-prepared area. This preparation is crucial for achieving straight borders and ensuring optimal results. Leveling the ground thoroughly is necessary to ensure that your Link Edge can sit flat in its intended position. Any low spots should be filled beforehand to prevent uneven installation of the Link Edge.
Step 3- Hammer
Begin by partially hammering in the spikes for your Link Edge. It's advised to use 4 spikes for every 3 meters of Link Edge, though more spikes will be needed for corners or curves. This approach maintains flexibility for minor adjustments while allowing you to visualize the layout of your space. Be sure to position spikes at all corners and curves at this stage.
Step 4- Extend
Now is the best time to add any additional lengths required for your project. Connect the lengths by inserting a fishplate connector halfway into one length, then pushing the second length onto the end to join the pieces together.
Step 5 – Check, Check & Check Again
Look, its really not the end of the world if its not in the right spot but its a lot easier to take the time to make sure your Link Edge lengths are positioned to your satisfaction and sit flush along the ground now rather than once they are filled in. Once you're happy with their placement, proceed to fully hammer the spikes into the ground, ensuring they are perpendicular to the surface.
Step 6- Fill!
That's correct! Now you can begin filling each section with your chosen garden materials. Installing it yourself is that straightforward! Whether you prefer grass on one side and rocks on the other, bordering a paved outdoor area with astroturf, or creating artistic swirls or circles as a unique feature, your options are only limited by your imagination!
